Meet Lindy, Co-Owner, and Daniela, Family Friend, from Top-Stitch

760 Finchley Road NW11 7TH

Husband and wife team Michel and Lindy have run the independent store Top-Stitch in Temple Fortune for 20 years, a shop that specialises in unique embroidered gifts.

Lindy turned her passion into a business: “I started off sewing and embroidering from home, for family and friends, and the demand grew and grew. I realised I needed a premise to work from that was larger than my garage. One morning, I was walking my six-year-old son to school, and he spotted this shop for let – so we took it! And we have been here ever since, serving the local community with personalised gifts for 20 years.”

Daniela is a close family friend who works with Lindy in the shop: “It’s important to support the local high street, especially now, as we help to keep the community together. Top-Stitch employs local people and puts money back into the local economy. We also offer a safe space for people to shop, where you can walk to the shops, touch and feel the products and allow us to build a relationship with you to help you find that special gift. We have customers who come back again and again."
