Overview
Barnet Family Services are currently updating the Child Participation and Family Involvement Strategy called: “My Say Matters”. We think children, young people and their families can help us make decisions and by working together we can teach and learn from each other. This strategy sets out how we are going to work to involve children, young people and families in telling us what they think, making decisions, designing and shaping our services.
We want to include as many children and young people as we can from different backgrounds and experiences so we can make sure that we get lots of different views and ideas.
What we are proposing
We want the children, young people and families to tell us how well we are doing, what we need to do differently and help us make the changes that children and young people want to see. We want ‘My Say Matters’ to continue to be a central part of how we work in Barnet. We hope to make sure that children and young people are giving us feedback, helping us think about problems and new opportunities and taking an active part in changing how we do things at every level in our service.
How to have your say
We want to make sure that children, young people and families can be part of updating this strategy and we want to hear your views, thoughts and ideas. We have collaborated with children and young people currently being supported by Barnet Family Services to co-produce updates to the strategy. You can share your views by completing the online questionnaire.
Read the draft strategy then complete our online questionnaire. If you have any queries or would like to request a paper version of the questionnaire or another format of the consultation, or if you would like someone to help you to complete the questionnaire, please email: childrensworkforce@Barnet.gov.uk
We want to ensure that our updated strategy is focused on what children, young people and families need and we look forward to hearing everyone’s feedback to help shape this. The findings from this consultation will contribute to the final updated strategy.
What happens after the consultation closes?
Barnet Family Services will use the consultation findings to inform our final updated My Say Matters Strategy.
